Short Writing Assignment 7

1. The difference between online library databases and the World Wide Web is that the you have to subscribe to the databbases in order to use them whereas the web does ot require a subscription to it. However, the web in many cases does not habe the best quality of sources to use. When information is put on to the web it is usually not eddited and checked for errors like the higher quality information on the online databases.

2. A bibliography is a list of the sources that the writer used in his or her essay. It is usually organized alphabetically. An anotated bibliography has a breif papragraph about the source and what specifically the source could be used for in your paper. This type of bibliography will help you pick out and analyze only the infromation that you will need to wrtie your paper.

3. Some of the charachteristics of a credibile source are; if it is current or not, it has been reviewed by and or edtied by someone, and did it coem from a credible online database such as Jstor.

4. Developing a research plan will help you organize your paper much better. If you make a list of claims that you want to use in your paper you can go into your research knowing exactly what it is you need to find.

5. Plagerism is using someone elses idea as your own in a paper. To avoid doing this use quotes and papraphrasing in your paper so that it isclear that the idea is not your own. Also use note cards to help distiguish between your ideas and that of the writers.
