Miller Response

Miller Response
In Matt Miller’s article Is Persuasion Dead?, Miller brings up an interesting point. Miller argues that the concept of using writing to persuade people is a tactic that writers are not using as much anymore. Miller argues that writers these days are just telling the American people information they already know. According to Miller politics have become more geared towards telling the people what they want to hear and not as much trying to change their minds using persuasion.
I feel that Miller makes a pretty valid point in his argument. It seems that the broadcast journalists and writers have been more geared towards telling people what they want to hear rather than trying to convince them differently. I don’t like that persuasion is being taken out of the media. If there aren’t people that try to convince people that their idea is correct then we will have the same opinions on almost every occaision.
